Gyacckk!! I'm leaving tomorrow!! WOoooooOO!! It's weird though, When I first went back to Australia in 2007, I felt so excited-I couldn't even concentrate on my social studies exam I had that day...but this time...it's not the same excitment...!! Which is weird, but I'm still very excited to go!
The day before yesterday, I had a haircut- which I don't like..so I'm going back today to get it fixed up..usually I don't really care because I know it'll grow out, but this one- I really don't like it, and I am being impatient and can't wait until it grows out, so I'm cutting it again..!! hehe
So today is super busy! We've been out running errands and errands and more errands, and unfortunately, it's been raining all day which has stopped us from taking Sunny out for a walk!
The other day, I think it was 2 days ago, we went for a walk in a huge thunderstorm! And we got WET! like super soaked- all the way down to our underwear...and we were even wearing Gortex raincoats!! But it was lots of fun, and we didn't get struck by lightning (which was of course on our minds because we were on top of a large hill!)
Eeeehhhh!!!!!! SO EXCITED!! WWOOOTT!! I'll write more tomorrow I think!
Lots of Love xxxx

4 days..!!!
I'm off in 4 days!! Only 4 days!! Ooohh ehh, it's so exciting! It's surely has come up super fast!
I picked up my youth hostel pass today which I promptly filled out and validated, so woot woot!
I also have gone a little crazy for buying e-books...but if I don't have internet, I'm going to need something to do, I can't study Japanese all the time...!!
2 days ago, I went for lunch with Lalaina and Maoly- my favouritest people ever!! We went to Kinjo sushi and ate alot-- including desert and yummy sushi- lots of yummy sushi! I even tried squid this time!! (Which was very chewy and interesting...I asked what it was only after I ate it, which is something I always do..to help me try new things! Next is crab I think or lobster!) And luckily, I get to see them again on Thursday! WOOO!!
So I'm just packing, and finishing the boxes, and yeah, just finishing up things, and doing last minute ideals..!

Errands
So pretty much, I've just been running errands over the last few days. Today was actually a day or rain!! As tomorrow and Friday will be too! Which is quite nice considering how dry the earth has been! (I know, because yesterday my mum and I were out gardening and practicing my green thumb which isn't very good) Plus, in Calgary, we don't get much rain at all, mostly either snow or sun.
So today, I bought a short rain jacket that I can wear over my snow jacket so I can ski- and it's light enough to wear just by itself without a jacket underneath too, so that's good. It's huge, but it doesn't look too bad. Oh, and a bonus; it's bright fluorescent orange, so if i ever get covered in snow, I will be very well visible! And I can get some construction work done. hah just kidding.
So, it's coming up very quickly! My departure is ever nearing!! I'm so excited!! But I can wait for it.
Well, I still have some more errands to run which I'm hoping to get done in the next few days!
Byebye!

Lots of delicious food!
Yesterday, my mum, our beautiful friend Tanya, and I went out for a thai lunch to celebrate my mummy's birthday! It was awesome and very delicious! It was one of those restaurants that I wouldn't just walk into off the street- it wasn't very nicely decorated or intriguing looking from the outside. The inside was nicer, and the thai food was absolutely scrumptious! We started with a coconut hot soup which was divine, then we shared 3 dishes, one of the classic pad thai, a fried rice dish and a vegetable stir-fry. Then to top off the meal, we all shared a mango and sticky rice! Man, it was delicious!! After spending such a wonderful day with Tanya, we decided to do it again!!
So today, Tanya joined the family at a FANTASTIC restaurant called Kinjo Sushi and Grill!
It is absolutely the BEST Japanese restaurant I have ever ever been into! Not just because of the food, but because of the people that work there and because of the atmosphere!! Everyone is happy to see you and they go out of your way to make your day, it's wonderful! So we came to this restaurant because of mum's birthday, and during lunch, the host came around the make sure we were having a good time, and if we were here just as a family dinner or because of a birthday, which we told him it was mum's birthday so he said he'd go prepare...So after my ordering (I think I got a little excited because I ordered alot...but we did amazingly well and finished pretty much everything except 2 pieces of sushi and one yam tempura!), Below is a photo of the Kiss Dragon Rolls (Left is Male dragon with eel, and right is female dragon with salmon! They were delish!!)
and after we finished eating, the host, and 5 other people followed him with a drum and a tamborine and sung a wonderful Happy Birthday to my mum, and then on behalf of dad sung You are my sunshine, and gave mum a big box of pocky with a lit candle stuck in the corner, so how wonderful was that? It was amazing!! I absolutely love that restuarant, and if ever I go out to eat, that one is always first on my list of places to go to! They are always so kind, and I've never had a bad experience there. Their food is divine and beautiful and you can watch the chefs cook it, if you are seated in the right area, and the people that work there are always smiling and always happy to help. It's absolutely wonderful!
Okay, so after that wonderful birthday surprise, we got more food... coconut ice cream (which had mango sorbet in the center)
and Japanese green tea ice cream (which is my favourite!)
..which was delicious of course! I think they were surprised as to how much food we ate :P but it was all delicious and we savoured every flavour of it!
After the restuarant, we came home, had tea, and Tanya joined us for the whole day! Which was wonderful! We had the family come over to eat birthday cake (yes, more food!) (lemon almond cake! yummyy!!!) with dried persimmons on top and a small scoop of lemon sorbet! It was absolutely tickling the taste buds for sure! After the family left, we watched Bridget Jones Diary which is always a laugh and decided that it was too much work to paint toenails. What a fantastic day!! Definitely, it was a wonderful birthday celebration!
So this past week, hasn't been too exciting. I've just been out shopping and recruiting what necessities I need for my upcoming trip. I bought a tiny sleeping bag and a kobo reader....um, that's about it!
Overall, it was a beautiful fantastic day!! This last photo is of us eating a strawberry and chocolate pocky together, I think it's the best way to eat them!

Lists and Long Lists
I've been creating lists and more lists of things to do before I go! It's crazy how many things there are on the list!
I've also had a huge craving for sushi...
I've been completing some online training for my adventure in Australia!
Writing some too.

Mother's Day Thai delicacies!
I did pretty much nothing today except go for a walk with my mumma!! And yesterday, was mother's day- during which my mummy was at a workshop volunteering, so we had some cake at my aunts house with oma and opa which was absolutely delish!
For Mothers day dinner, dad had a great idea of making a delicious thai food, because mum loves thai food! So I found some recipes of a pumpkin and coconut thai soup and then we also made some fried corn fritters which were hot and yummy! Mum really liked it- which I'm really glad about! Then I also did some foot massage for my mummy too ;) I think she had a nice relaxing evening!!
Today, I didn't do much, but this evening we made some more corn fritters to finish the soup off with. So that was really yummy!
I also finally got an email from Perisher regarding my staff accommodation- really in-informing, but.oh well!

The day after
So today, definitely was better than yesterday for sure! No vomiting, no feeling yucky...nothing! Except having big chubby cheeks! But I'll take that any day over puking! To be honest, it's alot less painful that I thought! I hardly feel any pain in my face- the only time I do is when I smile and when I puff my cheeks up. But I can help myself by not doing that, so it's all good! But honestly, I thought I'd be rolling over in pain and having to drug myself up but nope! I'm only on penicillin and if I need it the Ketorolac stuff. But I don't really need that.
It was nice and warm today which was wonderful! Again, I didn't really do anything today but just relaxing and enjoying myself. I've been pigging out on apple sauce and V8 mixed with yoghurt... maybe the odd spoonful of ice cream, and soup broth.
Pretty much exactly 20 days until I leave for NZ and Australia! I'm kind of getting nervous and fretting about when I arrive in Jindabyne/Perisher I'll have so much stuff with me, and no where to go (that I know of as of today!) EEK! So I guess my nerves are getting the better of me, but I'm sure it'll all go fine, because every other time I fret like this- it does end up just fine! (although, I'll be all alone this time!) But it will be fine, I'm sure! It will be an adventure for sure!!

Wisdomless
My wisdom teeth came out today May 10,
2013. I wasn't nervous yesterday or this morning driving there.
However, once I had the consultation and was signing the awareness of
things that could go wrong pages, I got so nervous! But it was okay.
The nurses were lovely and very nice to me. And they took me to the
surgery room, and took my blood pressure and put some sticky things
on me to read something (I'm not sure what, but it made me feel
better because they were looking after me!) And then the doctor came
and told me to open and close my fist like I would do when giving
blood- and then I had the needle stuck in my veins. The doctor then
said, You should feel drowsy in a few seconds now..and I was
thinking- I'm not drowsy. Not yet. Then things started to get blurry
and swirling and I honestly don't remember anything until I sort of
came to my senses in the recovery room, mum and dad were there, and a
nurse with a wheelchair. She helped me stand up and sit on the chair
and everything, then she wheeled me out- but I don't really remember
anything. I remember getting in the car- trying to say thank you...I
don't know if I said it or I just said it in my head or if she could
understand me at all. In the van, my eyes were shut for most of the
time, and I remember puking alot in a bag that mum found..I don't
know where. I came inside and sat on the couch- eyes shut again, then
I think I fell asleep. Then puked an awful lot again. Slept again.
Puked again. Slept again. Puked again. Slept again. Puked again. Then
feeling better, I ate some yoghurt. I had drunk lots of water since
coming home, but generally that got puked up along with some
medication. I also drank some guava juice, but that came out as well.
But after eating the yoghurt and some more meds, I feel much better.
Now, I'm feeling better although it feels like I have some huge holes
in my mouth. Maybe I'll post a picture of how I'm keeping these darn
icepacks on my cheeks, and yes I know I look ridiculous. Although,
now the ice packs are a little warm, so maybe it's time to switch
them out!

Gardening and Blisters
I helped my aunte out the day before yesterday- raking up inches of dead leaves! You know those gigantic truck boxes for those huge diesel trucks that people drive around in- I filled up two of those with dead wet mushy leaves! I worked so hard, that even with the leather gloves I wore- I got three huge blisters. Two have sort of gone, but one is totally red and a huge hole in my thumb.
Anyway, my brother left this morning- and it'll be the last time I see him in a really long time! I've started packing too- and I've packed my ski boots and helmet already and all my winter clothes, that'll be necessary. I think I'm getting a little too excited. :P
Also, on Friday I have my wisdom teeth ripped out of my face which will be super exciting too!
Byebye!

Busy Week!
Hii! This week will be busy! I have something I think going on every day :)
This evening, my family are having a bbq because today is the last weekend where everyone will be all together for at least a year! My older brother is leaving on Wednesday for Shanghai and the day he returns is the day I leave for New Zealand, and then he's off to Singapore before I come back. And when he comes back from Singapore, I think I'll be in Japan!! So it'll be a long time before I see him again!
So everyone is coming together tonight which will be fun, I hope! Plus it's lovely sunny weather outside 23 degrees! And tomorrow is supposed to be 25!
I also got a friend in Japan now who wants to better her english, so I got her contact today which is really exciting! Now all I need to do is brush up on my Japanese which I haven't touched for a while!
I'm kind of dreading Friday....but I'm sure 'll be fine. Thousands of other have had this done....my wisdom teeth have to come out of my face. I'm sure I'll be fine, but it's amazing what society will do for beauty. I was thinking, we have braces on our teeth to get our teeth straight and nice and pretty. And then we have some teeth in the back of our jaws that will destroy all that work, so we go in and get them ripped out so that the rest of our teeth will stay pretty. Gosh.
And then, I have to start packing seriously!
But now, I have to go out and help clean outside chairs (I'm also doing my ski boots while I'm getting wet!) so byebye!

Writing
I know I haven't updated this in a while, I've just been strangely busy. Well, not busy in the running around working way, but in a mental way I suppose. I've been reading this book called Writing Down The Bones by Natalie Goldberg. I've been madly taking notes and trying all her exercises and it's beautiful! I really enjoy writing. I've always enjoyed writing, but I guess over the last few years I've gotten stuck on my creative writing side. I've been stuck in a way too logical school-like manner. I think it's really sad that that's happened. I never realized it myself, until I read this book. What I mean is, it's really simple. Like asking a question, and you think you have to give a perfectly developed long answer after thinking for twenty minutes, but really all you can do when writing for yourself is give a 'because the sky is blue. Because horses lay oranges. Because mum said so. Because I'm stupid'. School brain washes you out of answering like that when writing. And hoenstly, it's sad. At first, I found it really difficult to find answers that simple because I haven't written like that for so long. But it's really refreshing. I have to say, if you have any interest in writing- a diary, journal, anything that requires pen and paper, I'd totally recommend this book to read. It's not that long, I could've read it in a day if I had 2 hours back to back. It's wonderful and clear. It's simple, no stupid why questions. It's fantastic. Totally awakening.
Nothing else, I suppose has been happening. But that's what I've done today. I went for a long walk on Nose Hill- it ended up being long because I was writing while walking which meant lots of stumbling like a drunkard. But it was very good and refreshing. When you just write, it's amazing what pops out of your belly, liver, pancreas, intestines and toe nails. Just whatever comes out goes on the paper. My hand couldn't move fast enough. Super cool experience!
