July 17
Booked my appointment for my next blood donation...really late. But that's okay! Recently, after my second ever rove, I was surprised as to how many people are actually afraid of needles, or just don't want to know anything about saving people's lives. (Also it surprised me as to how many people are from out of town...) It's not like we're selling them something...we're asking them to save peoples lives... I can't remember if I've shared this line before but one of the girls at my school says something like Even if you're afraid of needles, some people are afraid of dying! and it's quite amazing as to how many people actually agreed to donate afterwards. haha, kind of funny, eh? I mean, the needle is in your arm to around 7 minutes, and to me, it hurts less than a flu shot. and yes, the first time I donated, I almost fainted. So I have been there, but I still went back the second time and now the third time is coming!! When I move to Nanaimo, there are mobile clinics that come 8 minutes away from campus which is totally awesome, so I won't stop giving blood here! I am totally a huge supporter of the Canadian Blood Services and I definitely hope to continue giving blood until the day I die. Yay!
