Abundance of Bags. Last Trip into the City of Sydney

I'm going to start from a few days ago- the day before yesterday precisely.
I went for my last adventure in the city of Sydney!! I went to a outdoor store to get a day-pack for my trip and now I have an abundance of bags! I didn't mean at all to acquire so many bags...Originally I brought my suitcase, ski bag and my purple computer bag, and a small cloth purse. Then I acquired a bag from Nanu in New Zealand which I used to bring over the extra 3 kgs of stuff so I wouldn't have to pay the extra fee for having a bag 3 kg over the limit. I've since then bought my large backpack for my trip to carry everything in around Australia, and a daypack. So all in all, I have too many bags. haha, but luckily they all fit in my suitcase along with everything else..! hehe
Anyway, so in the city I also visited Paddy's Markets again to try and find a hat and an iphone case for my mother. I was successful with the iPhone case, but not so much with the hat- so when I get to Melbourne that'll be the one thing I'll need to get before I go on my tour! I then walked from Paddy's Markets

through the Chinese Garden of Friendship which was gorgeous...

...all the way through to Darling Harbour. Hundreds of people lined the harbour, people with megaphones, people on top of poles, and there were hundreds of boats! I had walked into the International Sydney Boat Show.

There were tons of people and tons of boats! I took a quick look around and then visited to Maritime Museum. It was quite a lovely day.

Yes, the water really was that BLUE!
Getting home was an episode- I had my bus fare ready, $2.30 student fare. I walked onto the bus and told the bus driver, "Student to Lane Cove please." He looked at me and said $4.60. I said, for a student? And he's like do you have a concession card? I said, what? Concession card? I'm a student. He was chinese and I couldn't understand what he said next but it was something to do with ID, so I pulled out my Vancouver Island University card and he said, "What's this? This no good. Doesn't mean anything." So I took back my fare and got off the bus huffing and puffing. I was upset. I'd never been refused entry on a bus before- EVER. I waited for the next bus where I got on no problem. I told Margaret and she said something was wrong with bus driver- he was trying to swindle me. so whatever.
Margaret and I made a cake that afternoon, a blueberry orange ricotta cake that turned out delicious and only lasted until that evening. How do you eat a whole cake in one day...we did it. haha

Yesterday I was packing, and yesterday was the day I discovered my abundance in bags. But it all fits so I'm okay with it. Today is the day where I'm going into Lane Cove to get snacks, water and food for the bus trip, along with stamps and cards. I am very excited for my next step!

For sure I'm going to miss Margaret and Laurie- I've spent most of a month with them, and it's quite comfortable here, feeling like a little girl on Christmas every day- yep it's quite wonderful. But I am very excited for Melbourne! Once I arrive in Melbourne it's only roughly 2 weeks until my tour starts. And I'll be exploring Melbourne- the place where I was born! Staying with people who knew me when I was a wee little girlie! It's very exciting I must say!
