So today I went into Sydney on the bus with Margaret! We got my bank account pretty much sorted, I just have to go back to let them know my new phone number( I'll get to that story later). So then, we went to get a 'travel-ten' bus pass. Which allows me to ride the bus from here to the city and back again 5 times. Then got on the bus and went express into the city.
It was amazing- I love the feel of Sydney and I can't wait to explore it more! Then we went to Virgin Mobile to get a number.
So the guy in there when I asked for pre-paid said they only had these 'cap' plans. He told me that they had 100$ credit. And he didn't seem to have anything else to say about them. So I bought a $19 voucher thing. Only to come home later and find that my account wouldn't active. So I asked Laurie if he could help me, and we ended up having to call them. So she activated my phone sim card for me, and then she explained the voucher a little more and it's not at all what that dude said it was. It expires in 28 days which is of absolutely no use to me, has tons of data which I don't use and it's 90 cents/ minute which is f*&(%&$ retarded. The lady on the phone then told me that I'd have to go back to the store to see if they will exchange my voucher with the Simple plan that I wanted that he didn't mention to me. I hope they will, because I am not good at yelling at people which I don't want to do, but I don't want a plan that I don't need.
So after getting that stupid plan, we went out for coffee in the Queen's some-or-rather which was full of expensive posh shops and people were dressed up for business and everything which was rather nice. Margaret showed me around everywhere, we went up to The Rocks which has a fantastic view of the Sydney Opera House and of the city. We then had lunch in the art gallery and had the most spectacular view ever...!!
We walked all the way around the oldest part of Sydney and I found some postcards that I bought, and the lady in the shop saw a little keychain that hangs from my wallet (the korean flag woven thing- very cute) and said 'Oh! That's my flag!' and I said 'yep, I want to go there someday!' and she said 'wow! You're very friendly!' I said 'Yep, thanks! Have a nice day!' and before this, I pulled out all my coins..which I forgot were mixed in with New Zealand coins, so she helped me pick out the right ones! So now I have postcards that I'm going to send off to Nanu and Pappy!
Then we walked towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge which we walked over and got different angles of the Sydney Opera House which is even more fantastic in person than in all those amazing photos!
Then we met up with Laurie for a cup of tea and visited the grocery store and the post office where I bought stamps, then came home! It was a wonderful day! and tomorrow I am planning on going back into the city and do some more exploring- of the botanic gardens and everything. I got so many brochures from the visitors center- I guess I've started collecting for the scrapbook I'm doing when I get back!
Here are some photos from New Zealand!
This above photo is from a place I cannot spell- Ma-right-eye. Gorgeous beach!
